Listening activity: "What about fast food?"

Good afternoon, everybody,

my name is Eunice Linares and this is the activity that I have designed in order to develop listening skills. Since the topic of our blog is food, this activity deals with fast food, that kind of food that is usually branded as a bad one.

The learning objectives of the activity are:

a) Be able to understand the main ideas of the video

b) Be able to reflect on what the video says
c) Be able to answer some questions
d) Be able to summarize what they learnt/ felt in a few words

The activity consists of two parts: watching a video and answering some questions, and giving some words that describe what students have felt while they were working with that topic. Students will work individually all the time, but, in the second part with Answergarden, they will share their impressions through the Internet.

The activity has been developed by using Youtube and Answergarden, two great technological tools. The first one to show a video and the second one to collect students' opinions.

As it is well known, fast food is not really healthy, but, do we really care about what we are eating?

Watch the following video:

Now answer the questions:

After having watched this video, do you still think that calories are the worst part of fast food?
